Reading Mountains Festival

Reading Mountains Festival

Who thinks mountains are only able to show their natural beauty is wrong, you can read them as well! For the fourth year running, we are celebrating reading mountains across and beyond the Alpine region to highlight the cultural diversity of the Alps!

Tuesday 11 December 2018

Partners of all kind - from schools over libraries, restaurants and book clubs to interested stakeholders - are warmly invited to set up a creative event that foregrounds Alpine literature.

Unleash your imagination and pass on the rich linguistic and literary diversity in the Alpine arc! A literary breakfast? A night in the library? Or a book presentation by sunrise on a mountain top? No limits are set with regard to the format of the event! Need some inspiration? Here you can find an overview of the events that took place in scope of the Reading Mountains Festival 2017.

The Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention will support the promotion in the form of posters, bookmarks and stickers and our webpage. To give an impression on the potential diversity of the events, we have compiled a (non-exhaustive) list of literature here. Do you have any suggestions for additional books? Need further information on the events or have suggestions for the initiative? Please don’t hesitate to contact us.
