Aims and activities

The working group "Education and Communication for Sustainable Development" works with young people in the field of sustainability and climate change. Since 2012, field trips to the mountains are conducted each summer with a partner school (youth around 14 years) within the frame of the research-education cooperation k.i.d.Z.21-kompetent in die Zukunft. This project aims to raise awareness on climate change issues and gives students the opportunity to learn about climate change in authentic learning environments in the mountains. Within its follow-up project k.i.d.Z.21-Austria, which started in april 2015 and lasts until September 2018, further research stays in the mountains at different locations were carried out with several partner schools across Austria.

Projects and activities involving young people

K.i.D.Z.21© and K.i.D.Z.21©-Austria (http://kidz.ccca.ac.at/) projects aiming at enabling youth to be confronted with and shape the effects of Global (Environmental) Change in high mountain regions.
